Diploma Course: Antigua, 03rd – 5th February 2012

The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) extends an invitation to all Clubs for representatives to attend The 6th Annual ABFA Youth Development

Coaching Course in Antigua from 03rd – 5th February 2012.

Course Outline

This Course is for all Youth Coaches working with players 11 to 18 years old.
The focus is on Session Plan Building using the new Coerver Coaching Session Planner Matrix, a guaranteed way to build your sessions, whether one session or 50 through the season….. Built on the experience during last year with English Premier League Clubs

• Participants get official Certificate and Course handbook with all drills and games in easy to understand and use formats.
• Participants get Official Course Shirt

• Participants can take both Courses but Course Two is invitation only: 8 Coaches selected by ABFA

The Presenters

The workshop will be delivered by the following tutors:

Mr Bryan Hamilton – Mr. Hamilton is the Technical Advisor to the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association. He was the former Head Coach for the Northern Ireland Football Association, Wigan Athletic, Leicester City, Ipswich Town, Norwich City and Tranmere Rovers. He holds the English Football Association ‘Advanced Coaching License’ and a ‘UEFA ‘A’ License’. He has coached at different levels for Clubs and Associations’ in Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, USA, Scotland and Japan. As a player he represented Everton Football Club and Ipswich Town Football Club with distinction, two of the clubs in a playing career of over 1000 Professional Games Played. He was a Northern Ireland International with 50 caps and three World Cup campaigns.

Mr Alfred Galustian – Alfred Galustian is the International Director of Coerver Coaching. He worked for many years with Weil Coerver and in 1985 was asked by Weil to head up Coerver internationally. He has since been responsible for establishing Coerver Coaching Worldwide. Alfred has worked as coaching consultant to the English Schools Football Association, the Italian Coaching Association, the Irish Football Association, the French Football Federation, the Japanese Football Association – as well as many of the J League Clubs (Japan), Arsenal, Everton (England), Auxerre (France) and Parma (Italy). Alfred started his soccer career as a player with Wimbledon in England, moving on to coaching after an injury. He has earned coaching licenses in both the United Kingdom and the USA. In addition to coaching, he has also produced many of the Coerver Coaching videos and writes for many of the leading soccer publications around the world.

Mr. Thomas Curtis – Mr. Curtis is the Technical Director of the Antigua and Barbuda FA. He is a fully qualified and successful UEFA A License Coach. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports Science, and the postgraduate FA Fitness Trainers award, as well as the Academy Managers License. He was the Head Football Coach at Loughborough University, the UK’s most prestigious sporting institution, where he managed all aspects of the largest and most consistently successful university football programme in the UK. He has coached and managed the English university team. He has worked also as part time Academy Coach at Nottingham Forest. He was a former full time professional footballer with over 500 league appearances during 14 years playing and has captaincy and coaching experience



The Invitation
Registration fee for the course is Free. Upon completion, each successful delegate will be presented with a Youth Development Coaching Course Diploma.

18.30 – 19.15 Lecture One: “From Matthews to Messi” Teaching the modern player.

19.30 – 20.15 Lecture Two “Planning Your Seasons Sessions”

DAY TWO: – 4th Feb:

09.30 to 10.30 Practical One:

10.40 to 11.00 Practical Two:

11.15 to 12.00 Lecture Three: “Premier League Youth Development Lessons”

COURSE TWO, 5th February:-

Advanced Technical Coaches Award

ABFA picks 8 of their top Coaches
• Participants are given a Technical Topic to prepare by BH/AG
• Participants will present a 20 minute Practical Session with Kids on that Topic
• Participants will be examined by BH/AG and given a grade

Participants will get the new Coerver Coaching “Play Like a Star” DVD
Participants get Official Advanced Coaches T-Shirt.
