September 28, 2012 – Education for Advancement – Antigua and Barbuda continues to demonstrate its corporate commitment to the community through its recent partnership with Bassa Sports Club. Both organizations entered into a partnership for the 2012-2013 ABFA Domestic Competition which involved title sponsorship and distance learning scholarship opportunities. The total value of the sponsorship is in excess of EC$50,000.00 and includes monthly cash injection to cover operational expenses, a full scholarship to pursue a Diploma in Sports Psychology for Peak Performance for the Club’s Coach – Schyan Jeffers; a Diploma scholarship for one of the Club’s executive members and an opportunity, up to an Associates Degree, for the 2012-2013 most valuable player (MVP) of the Club.

The President of the Club Mr. Lyndon Smith expressed the sentiments that the partnership comes at the ideal time for both entities. The cash injection ensures that the Club is able to raise their game beyond the performance last season while the further education component fits into the one of the Club’s mandate to contribute to the all round development of the members of the Organization. The Education for Advancement –Antigua and Barbuda representative 2012 Queen Of Carnival 2nd Runner-Up Ms Daveile Payne, indicated that her Sponsor places premium value on this investment in Bassa Sports Club and opined that she expected the individuals who were able to benefit from the scholarship opportunities to further their education would continue to give back to the Club and the wider community in addition to their personal development. She further expressed the desire to extend the partnership into a winning formula that would witness the return of Bassa to the top of the Premier Division.
