The technical director of the senior national football squad, Rolston Williams, said his team was near perfect in their second half 5-1 trouncing of Grenada in the CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

The victory put Antigua & Barbuda into the next round of the competition where they will likely be grouped with Curacao and Martinique.

“We did most things right (and it’s not often that a team does most things right), but we were compact in defense, we opened up in depth and width in attack, we moved the ball faster. I thought we were quite excellent in that second half,” he said.

Following a scoreless first half where the home team squandered numerous scoring opportunities, the Benna Boys had strikes from substitute Calaum Martin who scored twice, Trevaughn Harriette, Keiran Murtagh and Peter Byers who all netted once in a dominant second half display.

Williams, despite the victory, lamented the missed opportunities in the earlier stages of the contest.
