Champion Footwear Green Bay Hoppers and Sugar Ridge Sap grabbed maximum points in the ABFA premier division double header at the ARG on Wednesday.

Hoppers beat bottom of the table Pigotts Bullets 3-0 in game one before Sap knocked off Hospitality Services Sea View Farm 2-0 in the feature game.

Once again, national striker Tamarley “Ziggy” Thomas was on target taking his tally to 10 goals, three strikes behind the league’s chief marksman Stephan “Tommy” Smith of Lime Old Road.

Bullets was undone by Thomas, as well as strikes from Kelly Frederick and an own goal as they went down for the tenth time this season.

Though they are at the bottom of the table, Bullets came into Wednesday’s game with hopes of a victory following a 3-3 tie last week against Asot’s Arcade Parham.

It obvious that Bullets will be relegated at the end of the season and Wednesday’s defeat simply underpinned that fact.

Sap needed a win against Farm to secure its place in the premiership nest season.

Farm, it’s fair to say is safe for next season but was hoping to keep Sap in the relegation zone but Sap had other ideas.

Rackley “leech” Thomas headed home on an Okeem “Soda” Challenger pass late in the game to give Sap a 2-0 lead on their way to victory.

With the three points, Sap moved to 21, one behind Farm and two points ahead of Bassa.

The premier division continues on Saturday with a double header featuring league leaders Old Road against Cool & Smooth Empire in game one before Bullets battle Willikies in game two.
