St. John’s, Antigua – There was some impressive news coming from Eastern Europe, as overseas -based Antiguan footballer Josh Parker signed for Serbian Giants Red Star Belgrade.
Bennaboy Parker who made his International debut for Antigua in 2010, recently spent his last 2 yrs in Slovenia playing for Domzale F.C, who are currently first in the standings of the Slovenian top flight.
Information coming from the Red Star Belgrade camp are as follows:
“Red Star Belgrade have completed the signing former QPR winger Josh Parker. The 24-year-old has had a colourful career. He was born in Slough but has been capped by Antigua and Barbuda and has been playing for Domzale in Slovenia where his return of 14 goals in 42 games caught the attention of scouts and Red Star, now known as Crvena Zvezda, have offered him a contract.”
Upon hearing the news Antigua & Barbuda Head Coach Rolston “Debu” Williams had high praises for the versatile footballer.
“Since returning to the ABFA set up Josh has been nothing but professional and also sacrificed himself for the team on many occasions during our 2014 Caribbean Cup campaign. I wish him all the best I hope he continues to make his way to the very top of what football has to offer him.
Josh Parker had been capped by the Antigua & Barbuda national team 14 times scoring first goal in the dying moments of the second qualifying of the 2014 CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup.
