Senior national player, 22-year-old winger Eugine Kirwan is set to make his Trinidad & Tobago Pro League debut when he features for Morvant Caledonia United this season.

Caledonia announced this week that the Hoppers FC player has been added to their roster ahead of this month’s kickoff of the nine-team league.

General Secretary of Hoppers FC Troy Gibson said Kirwan was first spotted during his stint with the now dormant Antigua Barracuda FC.

“When Eugene first got the little stint with Antigua Barracuda, we had a CFU Champions League qualifier in Trinidad and he was first seen by a few teams there. I have been trying to nudge him since then but he was smaller and inexperienced,” he said.

“I recently had a conversation with (Shabazz) late last year about him and then Guyana came here for the under-23 tournament, and Shabazz got to see for himself … and the next day he was telling me, ‘I need this young man’,” Gibson added.

Kirwan, who has featured at both the senior and junior levels for Antigua & Barbuda, impressed during the CFU Championships and at the National Under-23 level.
