In the opening match of Saturday’s double header

Ottos Rangers climbed from second-to-last in the standings to descent 7th place ahead of Bassa, Five Islands and now last place Urlings.
Winning their second match in nine attempts the Rangers advance to 8 points after beating Urlings FC (also recently promoted) 3 goals to nil. Goals came from Kareem Martin, Junior “Eto’o” Benjamin and Teon Miller. Although with only two wins, Rangers seem to keep improving every game.
Maybe this was just their way of taking revenge for their 3-0 loss to Parham the week before.

In the feature match Saturday evening
After giving their neighbours a royal beating last week, current champions SAP came from behind to salvage a point after drawing 1-1 with Old Road FC. They’re now on 19 points and third behind Parham (23) and Hoppers (21). The win would have been better for Old Road who would have pushed on to 15 points gaining more grounds on Grenades who suffered a 5-2 defeat from the current champions SAP FC last week.

Five Islands and Parham display their artistic skills in nil all draw:
Five Islands and Parham played to a dreary 0-0 at the final whistle but the point still helping Parham to stay ahead of the pack.

Grenades vs Greenbay Hoppers

The Jennings men have suffered a second disappointing back to back loss. In a thrilling match up against Greenbay Hoppers FC right down to the last minute resulting in Greenbay Hoppers stealing the game in the 90th minute.

Kendell Pennyfeather opened the account with a 15 minute penalty kick (PK), 1-0. Elroy Simon then equalised for Grenades after he was gifted a beautiful setup by Elvis Thomas, 1-1.

Rafael Flores tested the Hoppers custodian Omarie Joseph with a long ranged free kick (FK). Joseph made a spectacular diving save to his right to deny him. Tamarley “Ziggy” Thomas also tried one from 20 yards out but came really close as he struck the crossbar.

Grenade’s #10 Oalex Anderson took a diving header in the 62nd minute to put his team up 2-1. Tony Thomas then drew level when he made it 2-2 soon after.

The game looked destined for a draw as the game entered proceeded into added time. Hoppers captain Ziggy Marley found the GK wondering off his line and made him pay dearly, after he performed so we for the majority of the game. The final score was 3-2 as Hoppers jump into 2nd place with those valuable points.

Last of all

Physically fit Bassa went under to Fort Road 3-1in the final match of the evening. Fort scored first in the 43rd minute through Adrian Barron who spanked a low shot from the edge of the box beating the GK Prince in fine style. Roger Hurst increased the score line to 2-0 a minute later.

In the second half of play Carlos Tittle put his team on the board in the 63rd before another 90th minute finish by Akeem Michael
