Play continued on Saturday night, June 28, in the ABFA Women’s Football League.
In the First encounter, Ottos Tigress were ferocious against Lady Bendals, mauling them 4—2. All goals were scored in the first half Lady Bendals. Miska Davis struck in the 2nd, 12th and 13th minute, while Portia Davis netted in the 16th minute for the Tigress. For Lady Bendals, Britney Edwards and Jinelle Nash converted in the 4th and 35th minute, respectively.

In the Second game, Lady 5P’s and Defending Champions, Lady Sap played to an exciting but Nil all draw. Although 5P’s produced numerous opportunities against Sap, who were short on players, it was to no avail. It was the brilliance of Dominique David in goal that saved the day for Sap from the onslaught of Kai Jacobs and Melissa Fletcher of 5P’s. At the other end, Delka Alfred, the 5P’s custodian was in fine form to keep the likes of Sonja Henry of Sap from penetrating.

Lady Hoppers started off Sunday’s encounter by mauling Lady United 13 goals — nil. For Lady Hoppers Trichann Grant netted in the 2nd and 30th minute, Alix Francis in the 5th minute, Georgetta Lewis– Buchanan in the 16th & 36th minute, Kanika Buckley in the 27th & 40th minute Everdine Parker in the 49th minute, Kimeisha Martin in the 57th minute, Myia Kirwan in the 79th minute and a hat – trick from Arianne Whyte in the 60th, 70th & 77th minute.

The much anticipated line up in the ABFA women’s football first round games between Jennings Challengers and Empire Star Girls was the feature game of the day. Both team played a physical game to a nil all draw, Empire Star Girls looked better of the teams, however they were unable to capitalize on their chances.
