St. John’s, Antigua – Just days after being knighted at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium during the “We versus Them” One Day Internationals, Sir Curtly Ambrose was honored by President Everton “Batow” Gonsalves and the ABFA.
Popularly known for taking wickets and bowling at a fast pace in cricket, Sir Curtly Ambrose is one of Antigua’s loyal football fans. The new knight was invited to office of ABFA on Thursday March 7th. Where he was presented with an official “Benna Boys” Jersey by President Gonsalves.
Gonsalves said “Sir Curtly is a lover of the game and we at the football association could not pass up the
opportunity, to show one of our cricketing legends and football fan the honor he deserves.”
Sir Curtly Ambrose was knighted on February the 28th, 2014 at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium along with Antiguan cricketing legends Sir Andy Roberts and Sir Richie Richardson.
