George Town, Grand Cayman – The Antigua and Barbuda under 15 boys played their first match in the Concacaf under 15 Championships on Wednesday evening at 6:00PM at the Ed Bush Stadium.

The young Benna Boys lost to three second half goals against tough Central American opposition in El Salvador on a stormy evening in Grand Cayman.

The match started off with Antigua playing well and applying high pressure on the Central Americans. In the first 15 minutes of the match Antigua had two chances with Javorn Stevens trying a shot from a hard angle, as the El Salvadorian keeper was caught way off his line after Stevens latched on to a through ball from the midfield.

Antigua and Barbuda’s second chance of the half came from a free kick just outside the box taking by Matthew Hall. Young Hall tried his best with the Curling attempted but the shot ended being just wide of the post.
Harsh weather conditions were the talking point of the evening, as storm like conditions made playing on the wet surface extremely difficult for both teams. El Salvador had two chances late in the first half as mistakes in Antiguan defense almost proved costly as both teams went in at half time scoreless.

In the Second half as conditions improved, the Central Americans opened the scoring with a 40 yard shot from Nestor Alfaro Torres in the 54th minute which beat Antiguan Goalkeeper Karmani Charles. After going a goal down the Antiguans made tactical changes seeking to rebound but little in attack was offered as El Salvador began to gain control of the game.

The Central Americans scored their second goal midway through the second half this time with a strike from Emerson Rodriguez Palacious in the 69th minute 30 yards outside box. The third and final goal was scored from a deflected shot from Emerson Rodriguez Palacious which gave the striker his second goal of the night in the 72nd minute.
