St. John’s, Antigua – The Bennaboys recorded a historic win over Guatemala on Friday night after South End United Striker Myles Weston’s penalty gives Antigua a 1 – 0 advantage going into the second leg.

It was a tense first half for both teams as caution was on every players mind especially the home team who have failed to defeat Guatemala in the last four occasions in World Cup Qualifying. Antigua and Barbuda would give a spirited display with organized defending and fantastic transitions to attack as they searched for an opening goal.

The Bennaboys would get their break in the second half after a Guatemalan defender handled Aberdeen striker Josh Parker’s shot in the box.

The all important penalty was taken by South End United Striker Myles Weston in the 72nd minute, who placed his perfect penalty to give the Bennaboys a historic first ever victory versus Guatemala.

The second leg will take place in Guatemala on September 8th as Antigua and Barbuda searches for a berth in the Semi-Final Round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.
